Michael "Shelly" Reardon, MD

Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Pediatrician and Child Neurologist

Dr. Michael “Shelly” Reardon was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, before migrating to Boulder, Colorado, where they finished high school in 1988. They graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1993 and earned their medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1997.  They then completed their residency in neurology in 2001, serving as chief resident at the University of Iowa from 2000–2001. Dr. Reardon continued at the University of Iowa as a pediatric resident and subsequently completed child neurology training in 2003.

From there, Dr. Reardon returned to Texas, working at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, before coming to Austin in 2005 to join ‘Specially for Children. In 2010, they helped establish and lead the Dell Children’s Medical Center Concussion Clinic. Dr. Reardon was one of the founding partners of Child Neurology Consultants of Austin in 2016 and currently serves as director of the general child neurology program.

Dr. Reardon is deeply honored to be able to provide neurological care for a wide variety of patients and offer a safe and welcoming place for people to share their concerns. When not at work, Dr. Reardon loves spending time at home with their family, cooking meals, reading, writing poetry and songs, and occasionally going out to play at open mics, see local bands, dance, or keep tabs on all the great Austin coffee shops, thrift stores, and food trucks.
